34:41 Holly Ryan, tireless Boston area trans activist who has been laboring for many years on the front lines that don't make headlines in the Boston area. She tells us about the significant gains she's been able to make on behalf of transpeople who find themselves in need of state-provided social services. We also talked about an effort being started towards statewide legislative protections for gender diversity.
Holly works as an advocate for transgender persons with the Middlesex Human Service Agency. She also serves as a member of the GLBT addiction task force steeering committee of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

63:03 Virginia Ramey Mollenkott (jstvrm@warwick.net), author of a bold new book that uses religious doctrine to support a view of gender that is based not on a binary norm, but rather, what she calls "Omnigender." Her book, Omnigender: A Trans-Religious Approach, is a brilliant work of exceptional clarity and depth, and she is no less fascinating in person.
From the publisher's website, an excellent synopsis:
"Virginia Ramey Mollenkott examines the problems inherent in our society's bipolar concept of gender identity. This is a landmark in bridging traditional religious doctrine and secular postmodern theory. This is an offering of a fresh way of thinking about gender in our society. "
Virginia is professor emeritus of English at the William Paterson University of New Jersey. She is the author of 12 books, including "Women, Men and the Bible", "The Divine Feminine", and "Sensuous Spirituality."
