On May 26, federal legislation was introduced which, for the first time ever, explicitly protects the rights and interests of persons of diverse gender expression and identity. Playing a pivotal role in this introduction was openly gay Congressman Barney Frank, who speaks with us about his purpose in introducing this act, and differences between the current house and senate versions of the proposed legislation.
