"I am a MtF living in Florida, but I was born in Ohio. Florida law allows the gender on your birth certificate to be changed but Ohio law prohibits gender changes on birth certificates. Does this mean that although I live in a state that allows gender changes, I still cannot have my birth certificate changed? Or does it depend on where you live? "

 Worldwide, GLBT persons are winning increasing respect and right to legal protections, but some homo-and trans-phobic cultures are particularly challenging to change. We speak briefly with Sunil Pant, director of the Blue Diamond Society in Kathmandu, Nepal, on his organization and the difficulties they face. He describes police brutality that targets sexual minorities, and an autocratic government that shows no sympathy to victims.

There has been far more medical information published for male-to-female transpersons than for FTMs, but R. Nick Gorton, MD is working to remedy the lack. Along with Jamie Buth, MD and Dean Spade, Esq he has co-authored a book titled Medical Therapy and Health Maintenance for Transgender Men: A Guide For Health Care Providers. As a public service, they have not only made the book available online free of charge, but they have released it under a Gnu Open Source license, freeing the community to maintain and update this important guide.
