Initiatives of Change A global network open to people of all nationalities, cultures, religions, and beliefs, who work towards change, locally and globally, starting with change in their own lives. Formerly known as MRA, this network has been active on every continent for over 60 years.
Right Wing Watch By People for the American Way, "an energetic advocate for the values and institutions that sustain a diverse democratic society."
Girls, Inc. "Girls Incorporated is a national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With roots dating to 1864, Girls Inc has provided vital educational programs to millions of American girls, particularly those in high-risk, underserved areas. Today, innovative programs help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential, and prepare them to lead successful, independent, and fulfilling lives."
Off Our Backs off our backs is a newsjournal by, for, and about women. It has been published continuously since 1970, making it the longest surviving feminist newspaper in the United States.
Susatinable Table "Sustainable Table celebrates the sustainable food movement, educates consumers about related issues and works to build community through food."
Emily's List "EMILY's List, the nation's largest grassroots political network, is dedicated to taking back our country from the radical right wing by electing pro-choice Democratic women to federal, state, and local office."
Colours of Resistance "A grassroots network of people who consciously work to develop anti-racist, multiracial politics in the movement against global capitalism. We are committed to helping build an anti-racist, anti-imperialist, multiracial, feminist, queer and trans liberationist, anti-authoritarian movement against global capitalism. We are committed to integrating an anti-oppression framework and analysis into all of our work."
Institute for Public Accuracy "IPA increases the reach and capacity of progressive and grassroots organizations (at no cost to them) to affect public policy by getting them and their ideas into the mainstream media. IPA gains media access for those whose voices are commonly excluded or drowned out by government or corporate-backed institutions. Amnesty International A Nobel Prize-winning grassroots activist organization with over 1.8 million members worldwide. Amnesty International undertakes research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.
The Progressive A journalistic voice for peace and social justice at home and abroad. The magazine, its affiliates, and its staff steadfastly oppose militarism, the concentration of power in corporate hands, the disenfranchisement of the citizenry, poverty, and prejudice in all its guises.
Center for American Progress "A nonpartisan research and educational institute dedicated to promoting a strong, just and free America that ensures opportunity for all. Think Progress "Think Progress is a project of the American Progress Action Fund. The American Progress Action Fund is a nonpartisan organization. With the blog, APAF seeks to provide a forum that advances progressive ideas and policies."
IndyMedia International independent media channel providing uncensored reporting in word, audio and video on unfolding events. A vitally important grassroots-level communications channel free of corporate influence or control.
Planned Parenthood The world's largest and oldest voluntary family planning organization, providing services and educational programs while advocating policies and promoting research to support choice in reproduction.
Southern Poverty Law Center Known for its monitoring of extremist groups, especially through its Klanwatch Project. Also known for annoying fundraising mailings.
Political Research Associates An independent, not-for-profit research center that monitors and analyzes organizations, leaders, ideas, and activities of the US political right that undermine democracy and diversity.
NAACP The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the oldest, largest and strongest Civil Rights Organization in the United States.
Alternatives to Marriage Project A national organization for unmarried people, providing support and information to people who choose not to marry, are prevented from marrying, or are among the majority of people who live together before marriage. ATMP works for greater understanding and acceptance of unmarried people.

Moore is an incorregible anti-establishment cheerleader whose documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" is the arguably most effective, and unquestionably the most popular, documentary ever made, and his "Must Read" picks are 'must' reading.
