  • 57:33 Debra Davis (ddavis@mpls.k12.mn.us), founder and executive director of the Gender Education Center in Minneapolis, host of a radio program called "Teatime with Debbie Davis" (KFAI 90.3FM, Thursday evenings 7:30-8:30). Debbie is a high-school librarian who has come under attack by another teacher who does not want to have to share the same bathroom with a transsexual. We talk about the complaint failed against her with the Minnesota Human Rights Commission, and the involvement of the American Center for Law and Justice (founded by Pat Robertson) in appealing the complaint (which was dismissed by ruling of the HRC) in court.

Marsha tells us about a new Seattle ordinance extending protections beyond those passed in 1986 which covered transsexuals and transvestites in public housing and accomodation, to include a new category, "gender identity," which includes the words transvestite, transsexual, and transgendered, with inclusive definitions of those terms.
