Diana Courvant is a transsexual woman, activist, and author of the breakthrough paper "Domestic Violence and the Sex- or Gender-Variant Survivor." She is the current Program Coordinator for the Survivor Project and Interim Sexual Minority Services Coordinator at Bradley-Angle House. Emi Koyama is the volunteer coordinator of the Survivor Project, a 'web chick' and a third wavin' feminist activist-theorist and Board Co-Chair for the Survivor Project.
We talked with Emi and Diana about why trans and intersex people, activists, and organizations should care about domestic violence, why domestic violence agencies should care about intersex and trans survivors, and why they all should care about doing multi-issue anti-oppression work. Then we talked about their upcoming transfeminism anthology, what it is about, why it is necessary, and what they want to achieve with it.

Chris Diani, executive producer of GAYBC radio and host of the GAYBC morning show "GAYBC Today" talks with us about popular culture. We talked about how Bruce Springsteen has come under fire (see also Salon story about his subsequent performance in NYC) for his new song, "American Skin" which talks about Amadou Diallo, the man who was fired at 41 times by New York police. He also tells us about platinum-selling rapper Marshall Mathers -- "Eminem" -- with anti-gay, anti-woman, and anti-black violent lyrics.
