Kate Davis is the award-winning producer/director of a documentary film entitled "Southern Comfort" which follows the final year in the life of female-to-male transsexual Robert Eads, who died in 1998 of ovarian cancer. The documentary is generating rave reviews and is sure to be a hit at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. We talked in depth with Kate about this work, from the personalities involved to her motivations and intentions.
"Kate Davis has created what must be one of the most remarkable documentaries of our times about gender, family, and love relationships. ... Raw, emotional, and provocative, Southern Comfort is a moving and illuminating examination of gender and the human spirit that will surely open minds as it opens hearts. "
