The most widely recognized annual event which honors transgender persons is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, now in its fifth year. Held each November, this day brings to our attention the many victims of anti-trans violence and hatred. The founder of this event, Gwen Smith, is a desiger, writer, and activist hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. She joins us to talk about this year's events and the ongoing violence against transgender persons.
