The Bush administration has now decreed that federally employed GLBT persons will not be eligible for protection against discrimination. Alejandro Marcel, a nationally recognized consultant on trans health care issues, fills us in on exactly what has happened, who is being affected and how they are being affected, as well as what might be done about it.

The Bush administration has been no slouch in embracing women as partners in governance, but that has not equated with progressive policies or perspectives. Laura Flanders, author of "BushWomen: Tales of a Cynical Species" and host of "Your Call", a talk radio program in KALW-FM in San Francisco, talks about the women in the current administration, their surprising history and largely unexamined role in the current administration. Join us as we rethink the notion that women are kinder and gentler by some biological imperative.
Flanders has been a regular panelist on Fox News Watch and PBS women's discussion program, and is the founding director of the Women's Desk at the media watch group FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting). She also authored "Real Majority, Media Minority: The High Cost of Sidelining Women in Reporting".

The Massachusetts legislature is convening in a historic Constitutional Convention to consider whether or not to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage. One of the leaders in the pro-gay lobbying effort is Arline Isaccson, co-chair of the Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Political Caucus. She joins us to talk about the upcoming struggle, in which those counting the votes in advance are anticipating preliminary passage of a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage while creating 'civil unions'.
