18:26 Question of the Week

"I am a pre-op mtf. I transitioned a little over a year ago and started the process of obtaining my letters for surgery. My therapist had no problem with providing a letter. I was tested by a Psychologist for my second letter. She used the MMPI and other various personality tests. My MMPI results were invalid. I then took the Rohrschack/ink blot test. Unfortunately, the ink blot test showed some problems and the Psychologist will not write a second letter. I feel like my boat has been rocked pretty hard. My question is what advice would you give someone who has been turned down for letters for surgery? Is this pretty common?"

35:31 Everyone knows that the Stonewall Riots were the beginning of the gay liberation movement, right? Well, maybe not. GLBT historian Susan Stryker discovered evidence of a rebellion in San Francisco that happened several years before Stonewall, and has produced a film documentary about it titled "Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton Cafeteria". She is joined by her co-writer/director/producer Victor Silverman, professor of US history, in a discussion of the why, how, and content of this impressive work.
