37:56 Question of the Week

"I am a 53 year old MTF TG person who is a survivor of severe childhood sexual and physical abuse. I have always felt female, but it has taken 15 years of intense therapy to resolve the severe identity confusion (including multiple personalities) resulting from my childhood. I have recently been seeking resources for TG people, but there is no reference I can find to combined abuse and TG issues. Furthermore very few people are even willing to discuss it. My question(s):
1) Why the reluctance?? Statistics say that a large fraction of people experience childhood abuse, so that should extend to the TG community. I cannot imagine my being a whole person without facing my abuse issues
2) What resources or at least written material are you aware of on the subject."
